The Revenge of the Rattlesnake

Race Overview

This is an old school, classic single loop backcountry race. The name is from an on course incident with a rattlesnake. You have to be tough for this 24 mile back country loop in the heart of Dankness…Canaan.

Event Details

• Date: 2026-09-20
• Location: 685 William Ave, Davis, WV
• Registration: Opens at 8:30 at Davis City Park Pavilion
• Race Start: 10am at the beginning of the River Road Trail (South side of Rt 32 Bridge)

Course Description

This is a fundraiser for Blackwater Bicycle Association. The course includes:

• Start: Davis on River Road Trail to Yellow Birch
• Climb: Up a virtual creek bed, The Davis Trail (Allegheny Trail) to Plantation Trail
• Trail Navigation: Right onto Plantation Trail, left onto Fire Trail #6, and left onto Canaan Loop Road (Forest Road 13)
• Descent: Fire Trail 3 back to Plantation Trail

Post-Race Activities

Post race meal by the fabulous SIRIANNI'S Pizza and FREE t-shirt are included in the race entry at the DAVIS CITY PARK

Additional Information

• Class: The DUO class is just for fun with official timing and placing
• Thank You: Special thanks to land owners and organizations, including West Virginia Land Trust and Blackwater Bikes
• Parking: Please park at the Davis Riverfront Park across from the Shop N Save
• Restrooms: There is a porta potty on site
