Lunartic 5K Run/Walk

🌕 Event Overview

The Lunartic (Lunar-tic) 5K run/walk is a nighttime event held on the eve of a full moon (or near full moon) along the beautiful shoreline of the Smithville Lake trails. The name was derived from the craziness of running under a full moon! This is a fun, family-friendly event. It is recommended to bring a headlamp or flashlight as it does get very dark under the tree canopy. This chip-timed race will be run point-to-point beginning at the Smoke and Davey trailhead and ending at Sailboat Cove.

🚍 Parking and Shuttle Information

• Parking: DO NOT park at the start.
• Finish Location: Ample parking is at the finish.
• Shuttle Service: Runners will be shuttled to the start line via school bus.
• Last Bus: The last bus will leave for the starting line at 8:20pm.

💰 Registration Details

• Initial Fee: $30 if registered before midnight August 7.
• Late Fee: Increases to $35 at packet pickup.
• T-shirts: Only guaranteed to those registered before July 31.
• No Refunds: Due to expenses being paid months in advance.

🏆 Beneficiary Information

Proceeds from this event benefit the Smithville High School cross country team. We appreciate your support! If you would like to make an extra donation to help the team, you will have an opportunity to do so at registration.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Date/Location: Packet pickup will be at Smithville High School Friday, August 8, 4-7pm.
• Race Day Pickup: Before the race at Sailboat Cove from 6-7:30 p.m.
• Pre-Registered Emails: Pre-registered participants will receive a confirmation email with additional details for race day.
• On-Site Registration: Registration will also be available at packet pickup.

🅿️ Parking Information

Please park in the grass lot at Sailboat Cove. You will be shuttled to the start. A $6 park entry fee per vehicle is included in your race registration. This hang tag can be picked up at packet pickup Friday evening or Saturday morning. This pass is good for entry to all areas of Smithville Lake all day August 8 only.
