Event Type: Nighttime 5K run/walk along the beautiful shoreline of Smithville Lake trails
Race Details
Overview: The Lunartic 5K run/walk is a nighttime event held on the eve of a full moon (or near full moon). The name was derived from the craziness of running under a full moon!
Fun for All: This is a fun, family-friendly event.
Light Source: It is recommended to bring a headlamp or flashlight as it does get very dark under the tree canopy.
Course: This chip-timed race will be run point-to-point beginning at the Smoke and Davey trailhead and ending at Sailboat Cove.
Transportation and Parking
Parking: DO NOT park at the start. There is ample parking at the finish.
Shuttle Service: Runners will be shuttled to the start line via school bus. The last bus will leave for the starting line at 8:20pm.
Entry Fee: $30 if registered before midnight July 30, $40 at packet pickup.
T-shirts: Guaranteed only to those registered before July 20.
Registration Information
Team Option: We are again offering the team (5 runners) option this year. You can select to run as an individual or set up/join an existing team.
Cancellation Policy: There will be no refunds for weather or a forced cancellation by the county or state of Missouri.
Beneficiary
Supported Team: Proceeds from this event benefit the Smithville High School cross country team.
Extra Donations: If you would like to make an extra donation to help the team, you will have an opportunity to do so at registration.
Packet Pickup
Dates: Packet pickup will be at Smithville High School Thursday, July 30, 4-7pm and before the race at Sailboat Cove on July 31 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Email Confirmation: Pre-registered participants will receive an email the week of the race confirming registration and providing additional race day details.
Parking Details
Location: Please park in the grass lot at Sailboat Cove.
Shuttle: You will be shuttled to the start.
Park Entry Fee: A $6 park entry fee per vehicle is included in your race registration.
Pass Information: This hang tag can be picked up at packet pickup. This pass is good for entry to all areas of Smithville Lake on July 31 only.
