Camp Leavenworth 5K

Now in its 5th year!

Event Overview

• Open to runners and walkers: This unique and fun event features stunning views from the bluffs of the Missouri River on closed-to-traffic roads.
• Medals for all finishers: Every participant receives a medal!
• Awesome race shirt: Available for participants aged 18 and older.
• FREE beer/beverage ticket: For finishers aged 21 and up.

• Prize purse: A total of $350 with $100/$50/$25 for the top male and female finishers.
• Cheerful volunteers: Terrific volunteers will be cheering you on.
• Age-group awards: 10-year increments from ages 14-70+ plus top male and female with stroller.
• Kids race FREE: All kids under 18 can participate at no cost!

Participation Guidelines

• Walkers and strollers: Walkers are welcome, and strollers are permitted.
• Bicycles and dogs: Not allowed, except for service animals.
• Minimum age: Participants must be 14 to run independently: children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the course.

The Course

• Location: The race begins and ends in historic downtown Leavenworth, KS.

• Route details: Starts at Choctaw and S 2nd Street: features a north loop and south loop with various turns.
• Finish line: Participants will make their way downhill to the finish line.

Check In

• Early bib pickup: Sept 18 at Ten Penny Restaurant (529 Cherokee, Leavenworth KS) from 4 to 7pm.
• Late registration: Available during Friday check-in.
• Race morning pickup: From 8:00am to 9:00am at the start area.

Parking

• Free parking: Several lots available within a block or two of the starting line.

Aid Stations

• Refreshments: There will be two aid stations with water and Gatorade at mile 1, mile 2, and at the finish.

Prizes

• Local elite runners: Competing for prize money.
• Course etiquette: Walkers should stay to the right, allowing runners to pass.
• Race start: Runners will start first, followed by walkers and stroller participants.
• Age-group prizes: Awarded to the top three males and females in each age category: 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

Kids and Families

• Participation age: Kids over 14 may run on their own: under 14 must be accompanied by a parent.
• Strollers: Welcome: stroller riders need not register but must be accompanied by a registered parent.
