Day of the Shred 2026

Event Overview

The 6th Annual Day of the Shred is being held at Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, NY, at the Polaris Pavilion. This is a kids-only mountain bike race, for boys and girls in grades K-12! Halloween costumes are strongly encouraged for race day (please no tails, capes, etc that may get caught in wheels!)! At 12:30pm, just after the older racers take off to race, there will be a costume parade ride around the Pavilion.

Race Details

• Number of Races: There are 6 races, and multiple waves within each race.
• Race 1: 10 am - COED, Balance bikes: race course is a loop in the grassy start/finish area.
• Race 2: 10:15am - GIRLS, Grades K-2: race course is laps of a 0.7-mile beginner-friendly mountain bike trail loop.
• Race 3: 10:45 am - BOYS, Grades K-2: same race course as Race 2.

• Race 4: 11:15 am - GIRLS, Grades 3-5: same race course as Race 2.
• Race 5: 12 noon - BOYS, Grades 3-5: same race course as Race 2.
• Race 6: 12:30 pm - COED, Grades 6-12: race course is laps of a 3-mile beginner-friendly mountain bike trail loop.
• Laps: The number of laps for each grade level is indicated on the registration page.

Awards and Activities

• Medals: There will be medals for the Top 3 Girls and Top 3 Boys for each race, including the balance bikers!
• Crowd Participation: We strongly encourage you to stick around for all of the kids' races to cheer each other on!
• Bouncy Castle: As always, there will be a bouncy castle too!
