NMSU Sprint Triathlon Details

Event Overview
- Host: NMSU will be hosting a sprint triathlon event after a hiatus of more than ten years.
- Format: The triathlon will be in run, bike, swim order starting at the Aquatic Center parking lot (reverse triathlon).
- Distances: 5 km run, 20 km bike, and a 400 m swim.
- Route: Run two laps around the fields, bike seven laps around the back side of the campus, and swim in NMSU’s outdoor pool.
Relay Options
- Participation: Grab two friends to split the triathlon disciplines.
- Teamwork: Each participant will tackle a portion of the race.
- Fun: Share the thrill of competition together!
Awards
- Individual Awards: Top three male and female athletes will receive a race shot glass.
- Relay Awards: Top three relay teams will also receive custom shot glasses.
- Finisher Medals: All participants will receive finisher medals and race T-shirts.
- Age Group Awards: Awards for the top 3 in every USAT age category, along with Clydesdale and Athena categories.
Beneficiary
- Support: All proceeds benefit the NMSU Triathlon Club.
- Mission: Allows NMSU students to compete in collegiate triathlons across the country.
