NMSU Sprint Triathlon Details

Event Description

• Welcome Back: NMSU will be hosting a sprint triathlon event this fall after a hiatus of more than ten years.
• Race Order: This triathlon will be in run, bike, swim order starting at the Aquatic Center parking lot.
• Distances: 5K run (3.1 miles), 20K bike (12.4 miles), and 400-meter swim (0.25 mile).
• Route Details: The run consists of two laps around the fields, bike is four laps around NMSU campus, swim is a traditional snake swim in NMSU’s outdoor pool.

Relay Options

• Team Up: We will be offering relay options for this race!
• Split the Race: Grab two friends and split up the triathlon disciplines.

Awards

• Age Group Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 in each age group.
• Relay Awards: There will be additional awards for the top three relay teams.

Parking Information

• Primary Parking: Located at the lot west of the NMSU Track and Field Complex.
• Additional Parking: Available in a dirt lot at the intersection of Wells Street and Williams Ave.
• No Parking: THERE WILL BE NO PARKING INSIDE THE SATELLITE WATER FACILITY LOT DUE TO THE TRANSITION LOCATED IN THAT AREA.

Funding and Policies

• Proceeds: All proceeds benefit the NMSU Triathlon Club.
• Student Opportunities: Funding allows NMSU students to compete in collegiate triathlon across the country.
• No Refunds: Unclaimed entries will be considered donations.
• Reservation Policy: Improper usage of the NMSU Staff & Faculty, or NMSU student pricing will result in reservation cancelation without refund.
