Event Overview
The Book It for the Huntingdon County Library 5K Run, 2 Mile Walk and Kids Sprint Event will be held along the scenic trail of Rails to Trails Alexandria Trailhead (Alfarata Station) in Alexandria on November 14th, 2026!
Participation Options
- Running and Walking: Participate in the 5K Run or the 2 Mile Walk.
- Kids Sprint: A fun event for children with a 50-100 Meter Dash.

Timeline of Events
- 7:30 AM: Check-in and Day of Registration
- 9:00 AM: 5K Run Starts
- 9:15 AM: 2 Mile Walk Starts
- 10:00 AM: Kids Sprint (50-100 Meter Dash)

Course Information
Course: Out and back along the scenic rolled crushed limestone trail of Rails to Trails Alexandria. The trail is extremely flat and may be a good course for achieving 'personal best' times.
Timing and Registration
- Timing: Miles of Smiles Timing Services
- Early Registration: Register on runsignup.com by October 23rd to be guaranteed a shirt.
- Registration Deadline: Online registration closes November 13, 2026 at 12 noon.
- Day of Race Registration: Available from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM only.

Additional Shirts: Can be ordered on RunSignUp Store and picked up race day on November 14th, 2025 at Rails to Trails Alexandria Trailhead (Alfarata Station).
Registration Costs
- 5K for Adults (18+): Early Registration: $30, Day of Registration: $35
- 2 Mile for Adults (18+): Early Registration: $30, Day of Registration: $35
- 5K for High School Students (18 & younger): Early Registration: $20, Day of Registration: $25
- Kids Sprint (Children 9 & Under): Early Registration with long sleeve shirt: $15, Early Registration with no shirt: FREE, Day of Registration: Free (No shirt)
Registration includes a shirt: Youth S-L & Adult S - 4XL.
Cancellation and Weather Policy
- Cancellation Disclaimer: In the event of a cancellation of Huntingdon County Library, all proceeds will be given to Huntingdon County Library.
- Inclement Weather: We will monitor the forecast: in the event of inclement weather, the race will be postponed to a later date.
