About this race
Triple Dam 10K
Sunday, August 30, 2026
Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
Distance: 10K (6.2 miles) Trail Run
Beneficiary: Springfield High School Cross Country
The Race
- Course Description: This beautiful loop on gently rolling terrain starts at the old Perkinsville Power Dam (Dam #1) on the Black River. The course follows the river downstream to North Springfield Reservoir on a mix of grassy trails and dirt roads, then crosses the river at the base of the North Springfield Dam (Dam #2).
- Return Journey: From there, runners head back upstream along more dirt roads and grassy trails to just before Stoughton Pond Dam (Dam #3). The course then crosses the Black River before finishing back at the Power Dam, adjacent to one of the area's best swimming holes.
- River Crossing: And yes, the river crossing is part of the fun! It should be low, approximately knee-deep, and slow-moving in late August. A rope will be secured across the river, and a lifeguard will be present to assist anyone who would like help crossing.
