- Purpose: Major fundraising event for Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society
- Celebration: 111 years of serving animals and community
- Options: Timed 5K and 1-mile route, solo or team participation
Registration Information
- Fee: $30 for the 5K trail, $20 for the 1-mile trail
- T-shirt: Free for participants raising at least $111
- Medal: Custom Lucy Mac 5K9 medal for all finishers
- Check-in: 9 – 10AM at Ascutney Outdoors Center, 449 Ski Tow Road, Brownsville, VT 05037

- 5K race: Starts at 10:30AM
Course Information
Participants will enjoy a scenic Vermont adventure as they race along handcrafted trails located on the western base of Ascutney Mountain. The 5K trail features:
- Terrain: Fields, streams, and woods
- Finish line: Winding down the ski slopes of the mountain
- Views: Spectacular vistas throughout the course
- 1-mile option: Just as fun for those not ready for the 5K

Ascutney Outdoors Center, 449 Ski Tow Road, Brownsville, VT 05037 (directions provided below)
Time
- Check-in: 9 - 10AM
- 1-mile race: Begins at 10:00AM
- 5K race: Begins at 10:30AM
Shoes
- Terrain: Includes grass, hand-crafted dirt trails, and wooden bridging
- Footwear: Trail sneakers, hiking shoes/boots recommended
- Conditions: Trails may be muddy and wet
- Safety: We want everyone to enjoy the adventure safely!
Dogs
We’re thrilled that Ascutney Outdoors is a dog-friendly destination! If you are bringing along a dog, they must be kept on a leash at all times, and please pick up after them.
Amenities
There are indoor bathrooms in the Ascutney Outdoors Center.
T-shirts
All participants that raised $111 or more will receive a free 2026 5K9 race day t-shirt at check-in. Limited supply available for purchase after registration.
Refreshments
Bottled water and light refreshments will be provided. There are also water bubblers in the AO Center.
Directions to Ascutney Outdoors (Brownsville, VT)
- From Windsor: Take Route 44 West for 5.3 miles, turn left on to Ski Tow Rd, continue to event parking.
- From Claremont, NH: Take Highway 12N/Main St., turn right onto US-5 North, follow to the end, turn left on VT-44 West to Ski Tow Rd.
- From Woodstock: Take VT-106 South for 12.7 miles, turn left onto VT-44 East, then right on Ski Tow Rd.
- From Springfield: Take VT 106 N for 3.1 miles, continue for 10 miles, turn right on VT-44 East to Ski Tow Rd.
