- Similar Events: This event is going to be ran similar to the big downhill races in the US. Similar to Monster Energy Pro Downhill, NW Cup, DHSE, and more.
- Course Announcement: The Cat 1 and Cat 2 course won't be announced until the week of the race.
- Cat 3 Courses: Cat 3 will be on either Happy Camper or Candyland.
Participation
- USA Cycling Involvement: Having USA Cycling involved will help riders get into the categories they belong in for future races.
- Category Support: We will be working with riders to get into their correct category.
- Finale Event: This event is the finale of the Downhill portion of the Downhill Midwest Series and the Lake Superior Gravity Series.
- Scoring: Cat 1 and Cat 2 will have scores counted for the series, while Cat 3 will score for DHMW overall only.
Discounted Lift Tickets
- Ticket Price: Spirit Mountain will be offering discounted 3 day lift tickets for racers for $65.
- Purchase Location: Tickets can be purchased at the venue.
Practice Schedule
- Cat 1 and 2: Will only practice during allotted timeslots to keep course traffic lower.
- Cat 3 Practice: Will be allowed to practice all day on Friday and Saturday.
- Seeding Runs: Cat 3 won't have Seeding Runs or Track Walk.
- Open Course: Their course will also be open to the public on Friday and Saturday.
USA Cycling Categories
- Cat 1/Pro: This is going to be the fastest group of riders on the weekend, comfortable racing down technical features in the Midwest.
- Cat 2: For riders who feel they can ride down the more technical features in the Midwest. Experienced riders from other events fit well here.
- Cat 3/Novice: Ideal for those curious about downhill racing, providing more practice time on a separate course for beginners.
