38th Annual Julie Diener 5K & Fun Run

Race Overview

The 38th Annual Julie Diener 5K is a 5K run and 1 mile fun run that is held every year to honor the life of Julie Diener. Julie was a Southside High School student and cross country athlete who passed away in 1992 at the age of 18 in a car accident. For several years the Southside High School Wrestling Team has sponsored the race as their main fundraising event. It is an honor to remember Ms. Diener and her dedication to Southside High School and Southside Athletics.

• Location: 3700 Rainbow Dr., Rainbow City, AL
• Registration: Opens at 6:45 AM on race day
• Race Start: 8:00 AM for the 5K, approximately 9:00 AM for the Fun Run

Registration Fees

• 5K Registration: $30
• High School Cross Country Team Runners: $10 per participant
• Fun Run: $5
• T-shirts: $15 (available for purchase or as an addition to registration)

T-shirt Purchase

• On Race Day: T-shirts available for $20 while supplies last
• Limited Stock: A very limited amount will be ordered

Awards will be given for:

• Top Overall: Male and Female winners
• Top 2: Male and Female in each age group

Fun Run Details

• Participation: Medal for all runners under 12
• Registration: Pick up race packs or register onsite at 6:45 AM on race day
