New Location: The Shaver Lake Triathlon has moved to Lake Evans in the Buena Vista Recreational Area.
Fire Impact: Due to the Garnet Fire, significant fire-fighting activity is occurring in and around Shaver Lake. The fire continues to spread.
Air Quality: Air quality has been shifting rapidly between good and hazardous as wind conditions change.
Official Notice: We have received notice from the Sheriff’s Office that the Triathlon cannot take place at Shaver Lake on September 14th.
Event Details
Relocation Approval: Kern County Parks & Recreation has generously allowed us to relocate the event to Lake Evans on the same date.
Participant Choices: Participants can complete a form to select from 3 choices.
Choice 1: Participate in the Shaver Lake Triathlon at Lake Evans on Sunday 9/14/25.
Choice 2: Defer to next year.
Choice 3: Transfer to another Sierra Cascades Race.
Important Instructions
Email Communication: Please do not contact the race by email to make your selection: all transfers must be done through the Google form to ensure proper follow through.
Response Times: We may not be able to respond quickly to individual emails this week as we handle the logistics of the move.

Finisher's Medal: All participants will receive a finisher's medal.
