Freedom Hill County Park, Sterling Heights MI
Saturday, September 13th, 2025
You're invited to participate in Turning Point's signature event kicking off domestic violence awareness month, which is observed in October. This event is Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Freedom Hill County Park located at 14900 Metropolitan Parkway, Sterling Heights, MI, 48312.
Turning Point and Tara's sister formed a partnership to honor her memory after Tara was tragically murdered in Macomb County by her husband in 2007. Sharing Tara's life story through this partnership increases awareness about the prevalence and dangers of domestic violence and helps prevent other families from experiencing a similar tragedy.
In 2025, we proudly celebrate our 45th anniversary of empowering survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking. What began as a small group of women sheltering two families in a church basement has grown into an agency serving 27,000 survivors and community members annually.
Turning Point empowers survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking through comprehensive services and resources while advocating for community action to end oppression and violence.
Event activities are located under the large covered pavilion. Free parking is available in lots adjacent to the pavilion.
