🌸 Welcome to the WVS Cherry Blossom 5 Mile Run

Come celebrate with us at our Cherry Blossom 5 Miler on April 27 as we kick off our year-long celebration of 50 years as a running club!

Let’s celebrate spring in NEPA! Join us for the Wyoming Valley Striders 50th Annual Cherry Blossom 5-Mile Run and the 20th Annual Tim Thomas Memorial, as we mark our 50th anniversary as a running club in 2025!

This exciting event will take place at Kirby Park, timed perfectly with the stunning cherry trees in full bloom. Be sure to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival happening in the park this weekend!

Tim Thomas, a local standout runner and Bloomsburg University alum, tragically passed away at age 31. Read our blog to learn more about Tim and why the Cherry Blossom Run was renamed in his honor.

📝 Registration Information

• Pre-entry fee: WVS members $20, non-members $25
• Price increases on 4/1/25: WVS members $25, non-members $30
• Membership Discount: WVS members were emailed the discount code on 12/2/24 & 1/21/25. (Our race discount codes are for current members of the WVS and should not be shared.)
• Membership Purchase: Non-members can purchase for $12 a membership in the store and then receive an email reply with the race discount code to use during race registration.

• Pre-registration Requirement: Runners must pre-register online. Race day entries will not be accepted.
• Registration Deadline: Online registration will close Friday, April 25, 2025 at noon.
• Refund Policy: Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.

🏁 Race Day Details

• Packet Pick-Up: Pre-entry packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 am at the pavilion inside Kirby Park.
• Swag Item: All entrants will receive a commemorative swag item.

⏰ Start Information

• Race Start Time: Race start is at 9:00 am. (Note: Earlier start time this year.)
• Timing Method: This race will be chip timed.

🏞️ Course Details

• Course Layout: The start and finish of the run will be in the meadow area in Kirby Park then fast and flat, out and back over a macadam pavement on the dike.

⚠️ Important Notes

• If the race is cancelled due to any directives by the hosted facility, or the WVS, 2025 pre-entries will be deferred to next year. No refunds will be given.

🔍 Additional Information

• This race is open to anyone. You do not need to be a WVS member to run. You can become a member or renew your membership during the checkout process. Online memberships are $12 per year.
• Non-members can purchase for $12 a membership in the store and then receive an email reply with the race discount code to use during race registration.
• The race directors reserve the right to accept or reject any entry.
