We’re lacing up our sneakers and getting ready for this year’s Runnin’ For Rescues!

🐶 Charity Focus
As in years past, this event is all about Second Chance Shelter — a non-profit, no-kill dog shelter doing incredible work for animals in need!
- Founded: 2008 by Doug and Wanda McGee
- Capacity: Houses and cares for over 250 dogs at a time
- Impact: Dedication and compassion for animals are truly inspiring
- Support Needed: Local businesses are encouraged to become sponsors
📅 Event Details
Come join us for the Annual Runnin' For Rescues 5K/10K Race and enjoy a scenic run through the beautiful Boaz area!
- Starting Point: Both races begin and end at the Boaz Recreation Center
- Water Stations: Provided along the route
- Finisher Medals: Awarded at the finish line
- Awards Ceremony: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each age group (male and female) will receive prizes
📝 Registration Information
Register by Sunday, October 25, 2026, to be guaranteed a shirt and medal!
- No Refunds: The event will be held rain or shine

- Course Certification: The race is administered by the Boaz Parks and Recreation Department, and the course is certified
