🏃‍♂️ Welcome to the 4th Annual Larry Prout Jr (The Bear) Courage Fund 5k and 1 Mile Run/Walk

We are excited for our 4th annual Larry Prout Jr (The Bear) Courage Fund 5k and 1 mile run/walk fundraiser! This year's race will be held on Saturday, July 25th. We're at a NEW LOCATION this year, Pinckney High School!

🎗️ Purpose of the Fundraiser

• Proceeds: Assist families at the University of Michigan Mott Children's Hospital whose loved ones are enduring complex medical issues.
• Support: Funds help with gas, food, utilities, clothes, emergency auto and home repairs, and other basic necessities that become hardships during a medical crisis.

💲 Pricing for the 5K

• Before July 12th: $30
• July 13th to July 24th: $35
• On Race Day: $40
• Registration: Online registration only on race day.

👨‍👩‍👦 Family/Friends Special Pricing

• Discount: $3/person discount when registering 3 or more people at the same time.
• Automatically Applied: Discount gets applied during registration.
• Valid: Only for the 5k, until July 12th.

🏅 Pricing for the 1 Mile

• Before July 12th: $25
• July 13th to July 24th: $30
• On Race Day: $35
• Registration: Online registration only on race day.

👕 T-Shirts

T-shirts are guaranteed with entry by end of day July 12th. Supplies available as they last after that date.

📍 Course Information

NEW in 2026: We'll be at the Pinckney High School complex. It features a beautiful course that we are very excited about. See the course map section along the top of the page for the 5k/run walk course map. The 1 mile event will be entirely on the track.

📦 Packet Pickup

Race day morning July 25th, 8:00 am to 9:50 am at the Registration/Check-in Tent. Race packets include: event and sponsor information, race t-shirt, and bib.

🌐 Virtual Runners

• Registration: Register by July 12th to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Price is $30.
• Mailing: Your packet (including t-shirt and event and sponsor information) will be mailed as the race approaches.
• Results Submission: You can post your results by going to the results tab at the top of the page and selecting virtual results.
• Deadline: Results must be submitted by August 1st.

🏆 Results

Results will be live during the race and posted on this website. The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation.
