Event Overview
- Purpose: Get ready to sweat in support of Riverfront Recapture's Community Rowing Program!
- Activities: Register to run, walk, erg or row in our annual 5K.
Race Details
- 5K Run: This course begins and ends at the Greater Hartford Jaycees Boathouse in Riverside Park. The course is mostly on dirt/grassy trails.
- 5K Row: Proficient single scullers only, club singles must be reserved with Jonathan.
- 5K Erg: Register for a spot on one of the ergs: space is limited.
Fundraising Details
- Purpose: This is a fundraiser, and all net proceeds will go directly toward the rowing program.
- Donations: Participants may solicit donations for participating in this event, and top fundraisers will receive prizes.
- Support Options: Those wishing to support the rowing program but not inclined to run, walk, row, or erg should donate to the rower of their choice.
Race Day Schedule
- 7:30 am: Registration Opens/Bib Pick-up
- 9:00 am: Race Start Time
- 10:00 am: Social (approximate)
- 10:30 am: Awards Ceremony (approximate)
Awards
- 5K Run: Top 3 overall male and female and first place in each age division.
- 5K Erg: Top 3 overall male and female under 19, 20-40, 41-60, 61+
- 5K Row: Top 3 overall male and female (USRowing age handicaps applied).
- 5K Fundraising: Top 3 adult, top 3 high school student, and top group.
Prizes
Monetary prizes for the top overall male and female winners!
About Riverfront Recapture's Community Rowing Program
Riverfront Recapture's Community Rowing Program serves more than 650 people annually and is one of New England's largest and most successful community rowing programs. Recreational and competitive classes, including the opportunity to compete on nationally recognized racing teams, Adaptive and Veterans programs, and youth clinics taught by college coaches, are offered to everyone from pre-teens to retirees. The Riverfront Recapture Rowing Program is over 25 years old and, since 2002, has operated out of the Boathouse in Hartford's historic Riverside Park on the Connecticut River. This is a fundraiser, and all net proceeds will go directly toward the rowing program.
