Join us for a Saturday evening run on the streets of Lenoir followed by Awards and an epic post-race party hosted by Liquid Roots Brewing Project! The course will take you by amazing public art, through charming neighborhoods and past iconic factories. This four mile route tours by five properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places and will challenge runners of all levels. The Eighth Annual Southern Sundown 4 Miler promises to continue to deliver cool swag, unique awards, solid beer and great live music. You don’t want to miss it!

Every registered runner (21+) for the Southern Sundown 4 Miler receives a full pour of a Liquid Roots brew after the race!

Registration Information

• Deadline: Register by August 3 to guarantee your size in the 2026 Southern Sundown 4 Miler event t-shirt!
• Early Packet Pick Up: Friday (8/14) 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Liquid Roots Brewing)
• Race Day Registration & Packet Pick Up: Saturday (8/15) 5:00 pm - 6:45 pm (Liquid Roots Brewing)

Awards

• Overall Winners: Top 3 Overall Male/Female receive custom trophies and Mountain Running Company gift certificates of varying amounts.
• Male/Female Masters: Top 2 Male/Female Master (40 & Up) winners receive custom trophies and gift certificates.
• Age Group Awards: Top 3 Male/Female in various age groups receive medals.
• Special Recognition: Silver Streak (Male) and The Four Mile Flash (Female) for overall winners setting a new course record.

Fun Runs

• Kids Fun Run: For kids age 12 and younger, 1/2 mile course. Cost is $5 in advance, $10 on race day. All participants receive a medal.
• First Annual Whippersnapper Sprint: Competitive 1 mile event for runners age 12 and younger. Fastest male & female receive trophies and gift certificates.

Team Challenge

• Team Composition: 5-10 runners per team, with at least one male and one female.
• Average Pace Calculation: Based on the top 5 finishers' times.
• Bonus Criteria: Teams can qualify for a time reduction based on specific member criteria.
• Community Focus: Promotes a positive active lifestyle and encourages participation from all skill levels.
