About the Organization

• Foundation: Simply Women Ohio is a small charitable organization started in 2009 by middle school students in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
• Board: The board consists of community members and high school students that collaborate with schools and organizations.
• Mission: The aim is to increase the participation of girls in sports and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
• Support: Support has included team spirit gear, uniforms, participation fees, and sports-specific equipment.

Event Purpose

• Fundraiser: The Simply Women 5K Run/Walk is an annual fundraiser.
• Proceeds: All proceeds go towards supporting young women’s participation in athletics and healthy life choices.
• Scholarship: SWO awards an annual leadership scholarship to a young woman in her Senior year.

• Venue: Yellow Springs High School
• Address: 420 E. Enon Road, Yellow Springs, Ohio 45387
• Intersection: At the corner of W. South College Street

Registration

• Cost: $30 per entry (includes t-shirt & swag bag w/ pre-registration through May 13th)
• Race Day Fee: $35 per entry (t-shirt not guaranteed)
• Check-in: On-site registration at 7:45am – 8:30am.
• Packet Pickup: Friday, June 6th, 6pm-8pm at YSHS.

Course Details

• Distance: 5k (3.1 miles) through tree-lined streets of Yellow Springs.
• Route: Loop: Start and Finish at YSHS.
• Water Station: One mid-race water station.
• Post-Race: Snacks, awards and prizes!

Awards

• Medals: Awarded to top finisher in each age group (must be present at closing ceremony).
• Age Groups: 6 and younger: 7-10: 11-14: 15-19: 20-24: 25-29: 30-34: 35-39: 40-44: 45-49: 50-59: 60-69: 70+
• Overall Awards: Top two overall award.
• Prizes: Enter drawing to win fun prizes after the race/walk (must be present to receive).
