🏊♂️ Snapping Tortuga Open Water Swim - October 2024
The Snapping Tortuga presents the Snapping Tortuga Open Water Swim. Distances: 1250m, 2.5k, and 5k. The Snapping Tortuga is the oldest continuously held Open Water Swim in Montgomery County, Texas. It takes place on beautiful Lake Conroe and features a 1250m triangular course in a protected cove. Safety is a top priority, with a large number of safety assets present to ensure the well-being of all participants and volunteers. The event is held twice a year in April and October, attracting top open water swimmers for a fun and exciting experience.
- No Event T-Shirt: To reduce entry fees, event t-shirts will no longer be provided but can be purchased separately. Please specify your interest during registration.
- Start Time: The 1250m, 2.5k & 5k events will start at 9:00 am. In case of a large field, the 1250m and 2.5k races may start 15 minutes after the 5k.
- Non-Refundable Fees: All fees are non-refundable, including in the event of cancellation.
🗓️ Event Details and Schedule
- Course: 5k consists of 4 loops, 2.5k is two loops, and the 1250m race is one loop.
- Start Time: All events start at 9:00 am.
- Check-In: Check-in starts at 7:45 am and closes at 8:30 am.
- Swimming Ability: Participants in the 5k must demonstrate the ability to swim a mile in 35 minutes or less. Equivalent times for other distances are provided.
🏅 Awards
Awards are presented to the Top 3 Overall Male & Female in each distance. No awards are given for the Wetsuit Division.
