The Houston Heights Fun Run

Event Overview

• Event Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026
• Event Location: Marmion Park, 1800 Heights Boulevard, Houston, TX 77008
• History: This year marks the 41st Annual Houston Heights Fun Run hosted by the Houston Heights Association, originating in 1985.
• Certification: The 10K and 5K races are both USATF Certified with codes TX17062LAB and TX17061LAB.

In-Person & Virtual Race Options

• In-Person: Participate on race day with options for a 10K Run, 5K Walk or Run, or a Kids 1K.
• Virtual: Complete your race any time from registration up until race day on a route of your choice.
• Submission: Virtual participants can submit their race in portions or all at once.

Race Day Schedule

• 5:30AM: Last minute packet pick-up at Marmion
• 6:45AM: Pre-Race Stretching begins at the Starting Line hosted by a Special Guest!
• 7:00AM: 10K Run begins at Starting Line
• 8:00AM: Kids 1K begins at Starting Line
• 8:30AM: Awards ceremony

Race Day Groups (5K/10K Run)

• Start Time: 5K/10K Competitive runs will begin simultaneously.
• Signage: Look for signs at the START for groups based on estimated Mile Pace.
• Honor System: Please select your group based on your best judgment to ensure safety for all participants.

Course Information

• Course Closure: Heights Boulevard will close to passing traffic for safety.
• 10K Route: Starts at Marmion Park, loops twice to complete the 5K Route.
• 5K Route: Starts at Marmion Park, turns around at 5th Street.
• 1K Route: Starts at Marmion Park, turns around at 15th Street.

Packet Pick Up Information

• Date #1: Sunday, October 4th - 8AM to 4PM - Historic Houston Heights Fire Station.
• Date #2: Friday, October 9th - 6PM to 8PM at GRIT.
• Note: No race morning pickup option is available.

Awards

• Distribution: Awards will be given out starting at 8:30AM during the After-Party.
• Categories: Top 3 Male & Female Finishers in each age group for 5K and 10K: awards for top Kids 1K finishers.
• Age Groups: Categories from Under 20 to 80+ for 5K/10K Run.

Shirt Deadline Information

• Guarantee Deadline: The shirt guarantee is Friday, September 25.
• Availability: Shirts are available only while supplies last, not guaranteed for registrations after the deadline.

After Party Information

• Location: After-Party at Marmion Park with local vendors and sponsors.
