🎖️ What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running 3 miles through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
• Support: We honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 by supporting our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

• Community Event: This will be the 7th year in Fort Worth and we are excited to once again bring together the community to honor first responders and military, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.

🕊️ Honoring Local Heroes

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has been very active in supporting fallen first responders in the state of Texas. One in particular which hits home for the community of Fort Worth:

While attempting to arrest three serial robbers, Fort Worth Police Officer Garrett Hull lll of Fort Worth, Texas, was shot and killed on September 14, 2018. During his 17 years in the FWPD, Hull served in specialized tactical units including the Special Response Team, Narcotics Division, and Tactical Intelligence Division.

Garrett was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by wife, Sabrina Hull and two daughters, Jordan and Tristen.

🏅 Event Details

• Event Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) to walk or run this event. Anyone can run, walk or experience this event.
• Packet Pickup: Luke’s Locker – Shops at Clearfork, 5255 Monahans Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76109
• Packet Pickup Hours: Thursday and Friday, October 9th and 10th, 10am - 6pm.
• Day-of Registration: Yes, registration will remain open until 8:15 am the morning of the event.

📋 Registration Information

• Online Registration: Online registration will remain open through the morning of the event. It will close at 8:15 am.
• Participation Bib: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment. Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.
• Front-Line Position: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral. (Arrive early)
• T-shirts: Yes, all people who register to participate or volunteer before 9/21/2025 will be guaranteed a shirt.

🏆 Awards & Recognition

• Medals: Yes, we will have top placement medals for select categories, finisher medals for all participants and the event will offer chip timing for those wanting to have a chip timed bib.
• Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the start/finish area.
• Allowed Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
• Security: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle. All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk. Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.

💵 Fundraising & Donations

• Registration Fee: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.
• Packet Pickup by Others: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
• Post-Event Donations: Yes. Donations will be accepted through November 2025 for this event.
• Sponsorship: Please send all sponsorship correspondence to fortworth@t2t.org with your contact information and someone will be in touch with you within 24 hours.

🔄 Miscellaneous Information

• Transfer Registration: Yes. Please contact us at fortworth@t2t.org and we will manually change it in our system.
• Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event regardless if you cannot make the date or the foundation needs to cancel the event for extenuating circumstances.
• Volunteering: Go online to our registration site and Register as a Volunteer. Volunteers are always needed for the day of festivities.
• Medical Staff: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.

• Pets: No, please leave your furry friends at home. Animals are not allowed to participate in this event.
• Running Awards: Special Awards and Prizes for Fastest Fire, Police, Military, first, second and third place for various categories.
