Please plan to join us for the 5th Annual running of the "9/11 Run to Remember 5K" held in remembrance of the 24th Anniversary of the events and tragedy of 9/11. Held Saturday morning, September 6th, 2025 in Downtown Cartersville, GA the “9/11 Run to Remember” 5K represents a celebration of the herculean efforts of all of the first responders from that unforgettable day 24 years ago.

• Produced in conjunction: Cartersville Fire Department, Cartersville Police Department, and Metro Atlanta EMS.
• Special ceremony: Pre-race presentation of the colors by the Cartersville Fire Department Honor Guard.
• Proceeds: Benefit the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation and Next Rung.

🚒 Race Route

This is a race route NW GA Runners have come to love! As the turnaround destination of the 5K route is the Cartersville Fire Department Station #1 where runners pass THROUGH a Fire Truck bay in Station #1 where they will be greeted by cheering Firefighters and other First Responders while grabbing water for the return trip to the finish line!

📝 Registration Details

• Pre-Race Registration Fee: $30 (open until 11:00 PM, September 1st).
• Race Day Registration Fee: $40.

📍 Start-Finish & Race Day Parking

• Starting Line: Both located in downtown Cartersville in Friendship Plaza adjacent to the Downtown Gazebo.
• Race Day Parking: In and around the Bartow County Courthouse located at 135 West Cherokee Ave., Cartersville, GA.

🚦 Race Route Description

• From the Starting Line: Runners make a left turn onto Cherokee Ave. followed by a quick right turn onto Erwin St.
• Proceeds: Approx. 1.25 miles on Erwin St. turning right onto Cassville Rd.
• Turnaround: Runners will turn right, running THROUGH Station #1, circling the back parking lot.
• Finish Line: Back to Friendship Plaza via specific turns outlined in the race route.

📅 Race Day Schedule

• 6:45 AM: Race Day Registration Opens.
• 7:45 AM: Race Day Registration Closes.
• 7:55 AM: Pre-Race Presentation of Colors.
• 8:00 AM: 5K Start Time.

🏅 Awards

Awards will be given to the following:

• Top Overall: Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female Winners.
• Top Masters: Top Masters Male and Top Masters Female Winners.
• Age Categories: Top 3 Male & Female in categories 10-Under to 70 & Over.
