15th Annual Assault on Kennesaw Mountain Memorial 5K Race

Event Overview

The Georgia Army National Guard ASSAULT ON KENNESAW MOUNTAIN (AoKM) MEMORIAL 5K Race is conducted at Kennesaw Mountain State Park, in Kennesaw, Georgia. Attracting hundreds of runners from across the state each year, the AoKM exemplifies what it means to Never Forget.

Purpose

• Honor: Participants, which include military and civilian runners and walkers of all ages, run/walk/ruck to honor the Georgia National Guard’s Fallen 43 Soldiers lost during the Global War on Terrorism 2001-Present.
• Support: AoKM’s mission is to support the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation.
• Morale: Help build morale among the military community.
• Fitness: Promote physical fitness for all participants.

Race History

• Years Running: Now in its 15th year, over 3,015 runners have assaulted the mountain since 2012.
• Funds Raised: To date, the AoKM has generated over $59,000 in support of our Georgia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen.
• Community Engagement: A gathering of diverse participants to honor America’s finest.
• Excitement: We are so excited to see you on the mountain this year.

Registration Details

You are invited to join together with people from all walks of life to honor America’s finest, in support of an organization that provides much needed relief in times of crisis, to America’s finest. Registration is NOW OPEN and will close on 25 September 2026 at 7:00 pm.

Race Packets

• Contents: Race Packets include a Finisher dog tag, race shirt, race bib, and AoKM sticker.
• Pick-Up Locations: Pick up your race packet on race day beginning at 6:00 am at Grace Community Church, or at Big Peach Running Company in Kennesaw on the day BEFORE the race from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
• Virtual Option: There will be no virtual race option this year.
• Support: If you are unable to attend but want to support the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, you can still REGISTER.

Event Schedule

• Packet Pick-Up: Friday, 25 September 2026 - 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Big Peach Running Company-Kennesaw, 1625 Ridenour Blvd, Suite 304, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
• Race Day: Saturday, 26 September 2026 - AoKM Race Expo at Grace Community Church, 770 Kennesaw Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30060.
• Late Registration: 6:00 am - 7:15 am (Cost: $40).
• Pre-Race Ceremony: 7:30 am - 7:50 am for Our Fallen 43.

Awards Ceremony

9:00 am - Awards Ceremony (Top of Kennesaw Mountain/Finish Line).
