About this race
Race Overview
The Race for Rescue, Oahu Search and Rescue’s primary fund raising event, is a 5K run that has been held each year in October. For 2026, the course is located at Kaiwi Mauka, at the south eastern tip of Oahu. Located just outside of Hawaii Kai, this stunning race course winds its way up into the valley gaining elevation above the golf course, before looping back downhill to the start/finish line.
Fundraising Importance
OSAR relies on this event to fund our organization for the next year, covering costs like insurance, technical rescue gear, and educational supplies. It's the support of our community that allows us to support our community!
Events This Year
- RACE for RESCUE 5K: will be held on October 31st in Hawaii Kai. Enjoy the amazing scenery while you run/walk a 5K out and back. Like last year, this course is not stroller friendly.
- VIRTUAL 5K: can be run any time during the race window (October 1st - October 31st), anywhere in the world. You simply run/walk 5k at the location and time of your choosing, and then upload your time to the race website.
