RUN FREE, RUN STRONG at the 6th Annual

WINNIE’S WAY 5K RESCUE RUN!

When:

• Date: Saturday, August 29, 2026

Where:

• Location: Arthur Ray Teague Boat Launch/Bike Path
• Address: 3140 Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, Bossier City

Time:

• 5k Race: begins at 8:00 a.m.
• ½ Mile Kids Fun Run: starts at 7:45 a.m.

Purpose:

• All proceeds from the race will go to support Winnie’s Wish.
• Mission: Ensuring rescue dogs with special needs receive proper care and loving homes.

Course Description:

• The course begins at the Arthur Ray Teague (ART) Boat Launch.
• It is an out and back course on the ART Bike path.

Registration:

• Early Registration: $25 until August 20th.
• Late Registration: $30 from Aug 21st – Aug 28th.
• Race Day Registration: $35.
• Note: Shirt sizes are guaranteed for those who register by midnight August 19th.

Lazy Dawg Sleep-in Supporter:

• No need to run, sign up as a sleep-in supporter!
• Receive a race shirt without breaking a sweat!

Kid’s ½ Mile Fun Run:

• Kids ages 10 & under can sign up for the ½-Mile Kids Fun Run.
• Registration Fee: $10
• Start Time: 7:45 a.m.
• Top boy and girl finishers will receive a trophy!

Packet Pick Up:

• Pick up at Sportspectrum on Thursday, Aug. 27th from noon-6:00 p.m.
• Available Friday, Aug. 28th from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Also available on Race Day at the Race Site starting at 7:00 a.m.

Awards:

• Overall Male & Female: will receive a $200 cash prize and a trophy.
• 1st Place Male & Female in various age groups will also receive a trophy.
• Age Groups: 12 & under, 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.

Post Party:

• Stay for refreshments and awards after the race!
• Several animal rescue organizations will be present with adoptable pets.

Special Notes:

• Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed at all times.
• Strollers, wagons, and baby joggers are allowed but must be walked.
• No in-line skates, roller skates, or runners with baby strollers allowed on the run course.
• This rule is an RRCA regulation!
