Winnie's Way 5k Rescue Run

🏃‍♀️ Event Details

• When: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2025
• Where: Arthur Ray Teague Boat Launch, Bossier City, LA
• Time: 5k Race begins at 8:00 a.m.
• Fun Run: 1/2 mile Fun Run starts at 7:45 a.m.

🎉 Purpose of the Event

• All Proceeds: All proceeds from the race will go to support Winnie’s Wish that all rescue dogs with special needs obtain proper care and loving homes!

🏁 Course Description

• Starting Point: Starting at the Arthur Ray Teague Boat launch.
• Course Type: Real simple out and back on the bike path.

📝 Registration Information

• Early Registration: Early registration is $25 until August 29th.
• Late Registration: $30 Aug. 30th – Sept. 5th.
• Race Day: Race day registration is $35.
• Shirt Sizes: Be sure to register early, as shirt sizes are only guaranteed for those who register by midnight August 27th.

💤 Lazy Dawg Sleep-in Supporter

• Sleep-in Support: Don’t feel like getting up and running? Not a problem!
• Race Shirt: Sign up as a sleep-in supporter. You still get a race shirt you just don’t have to break a sweat to get it!

🎁 Packet Pickup

• Date: You may pick up your packet at Sportspectrum.
• Times:
  • Thursday Sept. 4th from noon- 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday Sept. 5th from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Race Day at the Race Site starting at 7:00am.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Awards: Overall Male & Female finishers will receive a $200 cash prize and a trophy.
• Age Group Awards: 1st Place Male & Female in the following age groups will also receive a trophy.
• Age Groups: 12 & under, 13–17, 18-29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60+.

🍕 Post Party

• Refreshments: Be sure to stay after the race for refreshments and awards!
• Adoptable Pets: Several area animal rescue organizations also plan to be present with adoptable pets and information about their organizations!

⚠️ Special Notes

• Dogs: You are welcome to bring your dog to the race, as long as it is leashed at all times.
• Strollers: Strollers, wagons, baby joggers, and any hand pushed or pulled vehicle will also be allowed on the course, but at a walk pace only.
• RRCA Regulation: Absolutely NO in-line skates, roller skates, or runners with baby strollers will be allowed on the run course.
