👨‍⚕️ About Us

We are medical students at Indiana University School of Medicine with a vested interest in the well-being of our Northwest Indiana community.

• Health Focus: Health is complex and involves more than just medicine: healthy living is rooted in our everyday habits, especially in what we eat and how much we eat.
• Community Struggle: Every day, members of our community struggle to put healthy food on the table.
• Collaboration: This is why we paired with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana to assist food-insecure families.
• Event Purpose: Together, we are coordinating the food drive charity event Go for Gary 5k: Family Fun Run.

Our ability to help the 100,000 individuals facing hunger in Lake and Porter counties depends on the generosity and support of people like you: community members, neighbors, and friends.

• Support Needed: We are raising money and food to help those who need it.

Our fundraising deadline will culminate in our fourth annual 5k run/walk.

• Location: Marquette Park, at 1 North Grand Boulevard Gary, IN 46403
• Time: Check-in 8:00 am CST: Run starts at 9:00 am CST
• Join Us: We welcome everyone in our NWI community to join us in celebrating the mission of this charity and enjoying the end of summer.
