Kick for Kenya and Clean Water

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Please join us on Saturday morning, May 23, for the 2026 Kick for Kenya and Clean Water 5K!

Run or walk for a cause: proceeds will be used to help fund community development activities (e.g., planning, training, and execution of projects) in rural eastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids (US-based nonprofit), the Touch Africa Child Education Programme (TACEP, a Kenyan NGO), and other local Kenyan community partners. Funds raised will be invested where needed most, in particular to provide educational opportunities, improve public health, and address the compounded effects of several consecutive years of extreme weather that has led to food and water insecurity throughout the region. Our Kenyan partners' long-term vision includes construction and development of a community center with dedicated space for TACEP field staff offices, tutoring and counseling services, animal husbandry and agricultural demonstration plots, and hosting speakers/conferences for educational instruction and vocational training, as well as on-site housing for children or families in need and/or short-term international visitors.

📝 Race Notes

• 💳 Registration, Entry Fees, and Donations

  • Early bird pricing: $35 per entrant registered by April 30.
  • Tax deductible: Note that $25 of the $35 entry fee is considered tax deductible.
  • Entry fee increase: Goes up to $40 on May 1 and $45 the week of the race.
  • Pre-registration: Highly encouraged for timely starts and sufficient supplies!

• 📦 Packet Pickup and Parking

  • Pre-race pickup: Eastwind Community Church lobby and Fleet Feet Treasure Valley.
  • Day of race pickup: 8-9 AM in the Eastwind Community Church parking lot.
  • Day of race parking: Available at Eagle Christian Church across the street.
  • Plan accordingly: Eastwind Community Church parking lot will be closed from 8 AM to noon.

• 🏁 Race

  • Start/finish location: Eastwind Community Church Parking lot.
  • Starting gun: Will go off promptly at 9:30 AM!
  • Course description: Out and back along the Surprise Valley bike path.

• 🎉 Amenities

  • Accurate course: Out-and-back on flat, scenic bike path.
  • Course marshals: At all intersections for traffic control.
  • Mile splits: Provided throughout the course.
  • Post-race food: Enjoy a party with food and great prizes!
