Mason G. Smoak Foundation 5K
The Mason G. Smoak Foundation 5K will be held in Lake Placid at Devane Park. The race begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Race Registration
- Online Availability: Race Registration will be available online prior to race day and on-site the day of the race.
- Online Cut Off: Cut off for online registration will be midnight on October 15, 2026.
- Arrival Recommendation: Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the race in order to park, receive your race packet, warm up, use facilities, and line up for the start of the race.
- Merchandise: You have the option to purchase a race t-shirt or dry fit shirt during the online registration process.
Post-Race Activities
- Fall Family Festival: After the race, plan to hang out at Devane "Circle" Park for our Fall Family Festival with family-friendly fun.
- Available Snacks: Snack items such as fresh-popped popcorn, caramel apples, and boiled peanuts will also be available while your children play games.
- Free Games: Most games are free, with a minimal charge for snack items and a select few games.
- Awards Presentation: Enjoy the awards presentation from the race during the festival.
Mason G. Smoak Foundation
The Mason G. Smoak Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that partners with the community to impact lives. The foundation is a faith-based organization that supports education, promotes environmental stewardship, and fosters opportunities for leadership development in a manner reflective of Mason’s integrity and character. Since its inception, the Mason G. Smoak Foundation has:
- Graduated Students: Graduated over 298 students through our Youth Leadership Highlands program.
- Community Grants: Distributed over $200,000 in community grants and awards to over 40 different organizations.
- Scholarship Awards: Awarded over $296,500 to 82 graduating seniors throughout Highlands, Hardee, and Desoto Counties.
