KU Vets Day 5K

Event Overview

The annual KU Vets Day 5K, hosted by the KU Student Veterans of America and the Veterans Alumni Network, honors our past/present veterans and raises awareness of the roles veterans play in our university and community.

Race Details

• Date: 2025-11-09
• Start/End Location: The Jayhawk Welcome Center (1266 Oread Avenue)
• Previous Route: Typically begins and ends at Memorial Stadium, traveling through the KU campus past KU’s war memorials.
• Change of Location: This year, due to construction at Memorial Stadium, the start and end of the race will take place at the KU Welcome Center.

All proceeds from the Vets Day 5K support the following organizations:

• KU Student Veterans of America: Supporting student veterans in academia.
• KU Veterans Alumni Network: Connecting veterans and alumni.
• Lt. Gen. William K. Jones Military-Affiliated Student Center: Providing resources for military-affiliated students.
