🏃♂️ Event Overview
Proceeds to benefit EDWINS Leadership & Restaurant Institute.
Every day men and women at EDWINS Leadership & Restaurant Institute grind it out to get a second chance after incarceration. Compete in our 9th annual EDWINS Run for Re-Entry, to show returning citizens that you support their right to fair and equal futures.
🗺️ Choose Your Adventure
- Mile Fun Run or Walk: Tour the neighborhood around EDWINS with this beginner road course. This mile course plays it safe sticking to neighborhood sidewalks. Stroller and family-friendly!
- 5K GRIND Road and Trail Run: Can you handle the toughest race in Ohio? This race starts and ends at Shaker Square with a course unlike any other. Off-road. Through the water. Uphill. Through rocky, unbalanced terrain. Participants will experience a small amount of road running, but most of this course is a trail run that includes water crossings and steep skinny trails through Doan Creek.
- Course Cautions: Both courses utilize public sidewalks and paths open to the public. There are also driveways and cars, so please be aware of your surroundings. Know the course before you arrive.
⏰ Time Slots and Results
- Run Time Slots: Participants will start running in groups of 25 every 5 minutes beginning at 10 AM. Please choose a time slot when registering (limit 25 people per slot).
- Results: Final Results will be posted at noon on October 20.
- Awards: Awarded to the top 3 men and top 3 women in each age group.
- Age Groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
🏁 Race Day Details
- Packet Pick-Up: Begins at 9 AM until your time slot at EDWINS Restaurant, 13101 Shaker Square, Cleveland, OH 44120.
- Distance: 5K Run (chip-timed), 1 Mile Walk (untimed).
- Registration: Pre-Registration: 5K Run $30 – 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk $20.
- Late Registration: After 9 AM on Thursday, October 17: 5K Run $35 – 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk $25.
📬 Registration Information
- All mailed entries must be received by Wednesday, October 16. Make Checks Payable to Hermes Sports & Events.
- Mail entries to: Hermes Sports & Events - 2425 West 11th Street - Cleveland, OH 44113.
- Shirts Guaranteed: Shirts guaranteed for pre-registered runners. Subject to availability on race day.
