🦃 Event Overview

The Vernon Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is coming! RUN, TURKEY, RUN!

🎃 Purpose of the Event

• Fundraising: Each year, Vernon Recreation hosts a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot to raise funds and collect non perishables for the Harvest House Food Pantry located in Sussex, NJ.
• Community Impact: The Harvest House Community Lunch Program was established by 13 Vernon Township High School students in 1997 as the VTHS Hunger Project and is a nonprofit 501c(3) corporation that continues with its mission to provide nourishing meals in a clean, welcoming safe environment to those in need.
• Current Service: They currently serve 50+ people A DAY through a pickup and go system.
• Seasonal Support: Together we will help them continue to meet this community need as we head into the colder months.

So, dust off your finest feathers and join the Vernon Township Board of Recreation for a breath of fresh autumn air Thanksgiving morning to hobble before you gobble. It's easy as pumpkin pie! Run or walk.... on your own, with the family or create a team with some friends - this is a fun tradition to kickoff this day of giving and benefit such a worthy cause.

🌳 The Route

Our route is a nice combination of hills and turns through a picturesque rural landscape, including a cheering section of local cows!

💰 Registration Details

• Individual Registration: Flying solo registration - $30.00 (Price increases to $35 on 11/14/25 and day of).
• Group Registration: Flocks of four or more - $25 each participant (Price increases to $30 per person on 11/14/25 and day of).
• Children: Children under 10 - FREE!
• Included in Registration: Race Bib, Swag bag filled with goodies, Race T-Shirt guaranteed for paid registrants by 10/31/25 (children or extra shirts can be ordered for $15 each in the add on section).
