Crozet Trails Crew 5K/10k Trail Run + Family Fun Run

Event Overview

This is the major fundraiser for the Crozet Trails Crew, a grassroots community organization whose mission is to simply connect Crozet and Western Albemarle with trails and greenways.

The Course

• Starting Point: The Course starts in Crozet Park (on festival grounds by pavilions this year).
• Trail Experience: The course continues on the Crozet trail to the east of the Park (rustic trail, so plenty of roots, rocks, and ruts).
• Finishing Point: Finishes back at Crozet Park.
• Prizes: There will be prizes for overall male and female: first, second and third (first place male and female get a bridge named in their honor!).

Family Fun Run

• Shorter Option: There is a shorter option that still gets you out on the trails, the Family Fun Run.
• Course Details: The course will start in Crozet Park and go by the dog park: after the bridge it will turn left on a recent extension of trail (~.75-mile) back to the park.
• Future Connection: This section will eventually connect the trail to downtown Crozet.
• Participants: Kids under 7 years old can participate in the Family Fun Run for free if they are accompanied by a registered participant.

10k Trail Race

• Race Details: There is limited 10k Trail Race that loops by Lickinghole basin.
• Crossing: It will cross Lickinghole creek (you might get your feet wet).
• Fundraising: We're currently fundraising for a 50 foot bridge to connect the trails here.
• Support Needed: If you can, please donate to help with the bridge.

Post Race Trails Fest

• Event Highlights: POST RACE TRAILS FEST at the finish with a made from scratch Pancake breakfast!
• Live Entertainment: This year the start and finish is at Crozet Park's festival grounds and pavilions with live music from Susie and the Pistols ON THE NEW STAGE!
• Refreshments: Starr Hill beer will be available.
• Proceeds: All of the proceeds will go to Crozet Trails Crew.

Registration Information

• Date and Time: In-person registration takes place at Claudius Crozet Park on Saturday, October 25th starting at 9:00am.
• Packet Pick-up: Packet Pick-up and race day signup is at Crozet Park Pavilion 9am - 9:45am on Saturday morning.
• Alternative Pick-up: There will also be packet Pick-up on the 23rd, Thursday before the race at Starr Hill 6:30-8:30pm.
• Race Switch: If you want to switch races, please come to Thursday packet pickup to let us know.
