Crozet Trails Crew 5K/10k Trail Run + Family Fun Run

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

This is the major fundraiser for the Crozet Trails Crew, a grassroots community organization whose mission is to simply connect Crozet and Western Albemarle with trails and greenways.

🌳 The Course

• Starting Point: Begins in Crozet Park (on festival grounds by pavilions this year).
• Trail Conditions: The course continues on the Crozet trail to the east of the Park (rustic trail, so plenty of roots, rocks, and ruts).
• Finish Line: Runners will finish back at Crozet Park.
• Rewards: All runners get a race T-shirt, with prizes for overall male and female: first, second, and third (first place male and female get a bridge named in their honor).

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Fun Run

• Course Details: The course starts in Crozet Park and goes by the dog park, turning left on a recent extension of trail (~.75-mile) and back to the park.
• Future Connection: This section will eventually connect the trail to downtown Crozet.
• T-Shirt for All: All registrants get a t-shirt (but no timing or places are awarded).
• Free Entry: Kids under 7 years old can participate in the Family Fun Run for free if they are accompanied by a registered participant.

🚵‍♀️ 10K Trail Race

• Race Loop: A limited 10k Trail Race will loop by Lickinghole basin.
• Water Crossing: It will cross Lickinghole creek (you might get your feet wet).
• Bridge Fund: We are currently fundraising for a 50-foot bridge to connect the trails here.
• Donation Request: If you can, please donate to help with the bridge.

🎉 Post Race Trails Fest

Join us for a fun-filled time at the finish with a pancake breakfast made from scratch! This year the start and finish is at Crozet Park's festival grounds and pavilions.

• Live Entertainment: Enjoy live music from Susie and the Pistols on the new stage!
• Local Brews: Starr Hill beer will be available.
• Support the Cause: All of the proceeds will go to the Crozet Trails Crew.
• Timing: The event will take place from 11am - 1pm.

📝 Registration Details

• In-Person Registration: Takes place at Claudius Crozet Park on Saturday, October 25th starting at 9:00am.
• Packet Pick-Up: Race day signup is at Crozet Park Pavilion 9am - 9:45am on Saturday morning.
• Early Pickup: There will also be packet pick-up on the 23rd, Thursday before the race at Starr Hill from 6:30 - 8:30pm.
• Race Changes: If you want to switch races, please come to Thursday packet pickup to let us know.
