📅 Date

• Date: The race will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Rain or shine event.

🕒 Time

• 5k Start: 8:00 a.m. - begins at Coastal Studies Institute (CSI).
• Fun Run Start: 9:00 a.m. at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center (VTCC).
• Check-in: Will be announced closer to the race: at CSI.
• Packet Pickup: Day of 5k packet pickup will be post race at the VTCC.

📍 Location

• 5k Start/Finish: Begins at Coastal Studies Institute 850 NC-345, Wanchese, NC 27981, and finishes at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center, 950 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo, NC 27954.
• Fun Run: Begins and finishes at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center.

🚗 Transportation

• Pre-race Transportation: Provided for runners parking at the finish line.
• Rides to CSI: Will be announced closer to the race.
• No Return Trips: From VTCC to CSI.

💰 Entry Fees

• Early Registration: $45.00 if received by September 14, 2026.
• Standard Registration: $50.00 from September 15 – October 23, 2026.
• Race Day Registration: $55.00 on October 23 & 24, 2026.
• Virtual 5k: $20.00 without shirt, $40.00 with shirt.
• Fun Run: $20.00 without shirt, $40.00 with shirt.

👕 Shirts and Medals

• Shirt Availability: Not guaranteed unless pre-registered by September 14, 2026.
• 5k Participant Shirts: Guaranteed if registered by September 14, 2026.
• Awards: Given for top three male and female finishers of the 5k and top costume contest winners.
• Fun Run Medals: Guaranteed for all participants.

🖥️ Virtual Participants

• Run Anytime: Complete your run/walk 5k any time from registration until race day.
• Submit Time: Via runsignup.com.
• Proof for Wellness Points: Required for Dare County Employees via fitness tracker screenshot.
• Medals: Sent to all virtual participants within 2 weeks of the event date.

🎉 Non-Race Participants

• Pre-Race Festivities: Open to all runners and spectators at CSI and VTCC.

🚙 Parking and Traffic

• Parking Recommendation: Park at the finish and shuttle to the start.
• Participant Drop-off: Possible at the start, but may miss seeing finish.
• Traffic Control: Strict measures in place: expect delays.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Date: Friday, October 23, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at VTCC.
• Packet Pickup for Others: Needs prior permission via email.
• Race Day Setup: Late packet pickup available at the race start.

📝 Registration

• Online Registration Ends: 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
• Paper Registration: Available at VTCC or start line for $55.00 through race day.
• 5k Registration Cutoff: Ends at 7:45 a.m.: Fun Run from 8:15-8:45 a.m.
