Happy Valley Humdinger

Event Overview

• Race Date: October 24, 2026
• Location: 1275 NC-268, Lenoir, NC
• Course: A 5k point-to-point run through beautiful Happy Valley, NC, along the Yadkin River.
• Costume Fun: Feel free to don a Halloween costume and celebrate the spooky season.

Course Details

• Surface: 90% hardtop and 10% natural surface.
• Traffic: The majority of the race is on a public, low-traffic hard top road.
• Additional Terrain: The route traverses a mowed grass field.
• Age Requirement: Every registered runner (21+) receives a craft beer after the race.

• Costume Contest: Open to runners, walkers, and spectators of all ages.
• Awards: Best costume awards for Adults and Kids (Winner & Runner Up).
• Shirt Guarantee: Register by October 12 at Midnight for your official event shirt.

Event Schedule

• Friday (10/23): Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Happy Valley Filling Station.
• Saturday (10/24): On-Site Registration & Packet Pick-Up from 9:30 am - 10:45 am.
• Race Start: The Fifth Annual Happy Valley Humdinger starts at 11:00 am (note new time).
• After Race Party: Begins at the outside stage at 11:30 am.

Parking Information

• Runners: Required to park at the starting line area (Lapaz / Marshallberg Farm).
• Supporters: Family, friends, guests, and spectators are welcome to park at Happy Valley Filling Station.
• Parking Locations: Both Happy Valley Filling Station and the starting line area permit public parking.
• Safety: Low traffic ensures a smooth arrival and exit for participants.

Shuttle Service

• Pre-Race Shuttle: Runs from start line area to Happy Valley Filling Station.
• First Shuttle Times: 10:45 am and 11:05 am.
• Return Service: Starts at 11:30 am from the finish line to vehicles.
• Frequency: Shuttle every 20 minutes until 2:30 pm.

Gear Check

• Availability: Gear check service for items to be transferred to the finish line area.
• Restrictions: No high-value items allowed.

Awards

• Top Overall Male/Female: Custom trophies and Mountain Running Company gift certificates.
• Top Master Male/Female: Custom trophies with gift certificates for age 40 & over.
• Top Age Groups: Medals for finishing positions across various age categories.
• Kids Fun Run: 1/2 mile course for kids 12 and under with medals for all participants.
