TopCity Half Marathon

Event Overview

Join us for the TopCity Half Marathon & 5K on May 1st, 2027. The Top City Half Marathon & 5k aims to be a premiere event that enhances the health, wellness and culture of Topeka. The route takes you on the popular Shunga running trail, while also showcasing the neighborhoods of Kansas’ TopCity.

Participant Perks

• T-Shirts: Every participant receives a participant race T-Shirt.
• Medals: Each finisher will receive a finisher medal.
• Goodie Bags: Participants will receive bags filled with sponsorship goodies.
• Beverages: Enjoy post race beverages from Chaos Coffee and Iron Rail Brewing (if over 21)!

Pacing Requirements

Please note, to allow us to satisfy city permit requirements for street closures, half marathon participants must maintain a pace of 16 minutes per mile or faster.

Aid Stations

• 5K Aid Station: Aid station with water will be at Mile 1.5 for both the 5K and Half Marathon. It will also serve as an aid station at Mile 11.5.
• Aid Station #2: There will be an aid station with water and porta potties at Mile 3 right by Tortilla Jack's. This will also serve as an aid station at Mile 10.
• Aid Station #3: There will be an aid station with water at around 5.5 miles.
• Aid Station #4: There will be an aid station with water at 7.5 miles and porta potties.
