Frosty 5K

Frosty 5K Overview

The Frosty 5K is jingling its way back and is slated to be held Dec. 12 near the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana building in Helena. The course will start and end at the BCBSMT building, while taking people through the Mountain View Meadows community. This is an in-person race, but not to worry, there is a virtual option as well. Give yourself an early present and celebrate the holidays by participating in our Frosty 5K.

• Registration Fee: $25
• Capacity: Capped at 600 people

Participation Perks

Runners will receive a commemorative race beanie, medal, and race bib on race day as part of their race registration. The beanie design will be released later this fall.

Course Details

Due to how popular the Frosty 5K has become, we moved the course last year to give people more room to run and provide a single-loop race. The Frosty 5K now starts and finishes near the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana building, and runners go through the Mountain View Meadows community. Check out the new course by clicking here.

Supporting Montana's Health

All registration dollars go to support the Caring Foundation of Montana, which helps provide access to preventive health care services to Montanans. These services include vaccines, oral and vision screenings, sports physicals, and other health screenings.

Race Day Information

Of course you should run in December! It’s a great way to cap your fitness goals for the year and give yourself one final push before all those holiday cookies. Runners can run on a treadmill with the virtual option or brave the elements outside. Here are the details for the in-person run:

• Start Time: In-person race will start at 1 p.m., with check-in beginning at 12 p.m.
• Location: The course will start at 3645 Alice Street at the BCBSMT building and go through the Mountain View Meadow community.
• Timing: Chip timing will be available courtesy of Competitive Timing.
• Refreshments: Hot chocolate and water will be provided at the finish line.

Additional Features

• Holiday Spirit: Holiday music will be playing, and runners are encouraged to dress up in festive attire.
• Awards: Wreaths will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers.

Important Race Details

• Registration Limit: Limited to the first 600 runners.
• Commemorative Gear: All runners will receive a commemorative beanie, finisher medal, and race bib.
• Race Options: The Frosty 5K is an in-person race with a virtual option.
• Gear Pickup: In-person runners will have opportunities to pick up their race gear at the following times and locations:
  • Dec. 7 at Ten Mile Creek Brewery, from 4-6 p.m.
  • Dec. 11 at the BCBSMT Building from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., address is 3645 Alice Street
  • Dec. 12 at the BCBSMT building from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
• Virtual Registration: Out-of-town virtual race registrations will have their race swag mailed to them the week of Dec. 7.
