5K Run & Walk

• Description: A 5K Run/Walk to Benefit the Veterans Drop-In Center in Rockford, IL. This is our 14th annual run and will, again, be held at Rock Valley College.
• Certification: This run is USATF certified (IL26022NM) and is a 2026 RRR Circuit Race.

5k Ruck Division

• Event Type: This is a 5k Ruck that starts at the same time as the 5k.
• Requirements: Participants must carry a rucksack (aka backpack) for the entire 5k distance.
• Weight Guidelines: If you weigh > 150 lbs, carry a Ruck weighing 20 lbs: if < 150 lbs, carry a Ruck weighing 10 lbs.
• Awards: No age group awards for the 5k Ruck, only 1st overall male & female.

Registration Pricing

• Pricing: $35 per participant, $15 for children 17 and under.
• Discount: $3 discount for RRR members (does not include children 17 and under).
• Registration Deadline: Online registration closes on Friday, 11/6/26 at midnight.
• Restrictions: No inline skates or dogs please!

Shirts and Merchandise

• Shirt Guarantee: Shirts are guaranteed only if registered by 9/25/26. SHIRTS WILL NOT BE A GUARANTEE AFTER.
• Hoodies: We will have hoodies available for purchase at packet pick up and race day!

Awards

• Top Winners: $100 for overall male and female: $50 for overall male and female veterans: $50 for overall male and female masters (50+).
• Age Groups: Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each age group: 0-8, 9-10, 11-12, etc.
• Eligibility Note: High school athletes risk jeopardizing eligibility and/or scholarships by accepting cash awards but can win titles and medals.
