Swamp Stomp Half Marathon & 1 Mile Fun Run

The Lake Area Runners presents the Swamp Stomp 1/2 Marathon and the 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

The race will start and finish at Graywood Park located at: 6150 Graywood Parkway, Lake Charles, LA 70605. This course through the streets of Graywood Plantation subdivision offers plenty of opportunities for your friends and family to cheer you on along the course! There will be multiple water stops and port-a-potties along the course. Stay for the after party! Free food provided by Bolton Ford, refreshments, fun/games, and music for all our runners and their families.

Registration Information

• Minimum Age: 14 years. Participants must be 14 years old by December 13, 2025 to register.

Route Description

• Half Marathon: The Swamp Stomp 1/2 Marathon is a flat and fast course that winds through most neighborhoods of the beautiful Graywood Plantation community south of Lake Charles.
• 1 Mile Fun Run: Get the kids active with our 1 mile fun run! This will be an out and back course starting and finishing at the 1/2 marathon starting line.

• $90: September 1 - October 31
• $95: November 1 - November 22
• $100: November 23 - December 11
• $120: *December 12 - 13 *Online registration at packet pickup.

LAR does not offer Age Based pricing for the Swamp Stomp Half Marathon or 1 Mile Fun Run.

Packet Pickup

• Friday, December 12, 2025: Where: Southern Specialty Products, 615 E. Prien Lake Road, Lake Charles, LA 70605. When: 12:30PM - 5:00PM
• Saturday, December 13, 2025: Where: Graywood Plantation Park, 3861 Gray Market Drive, Lake Charles, LA 70605 (across the street from Graywood Racquet Club). When: 6:00AM - 6:45AM

Race Day Schedule

Half Marathon

• 6:00AM: Packet pickup and race day registration opens
• 6:30AM: Race day registration closes
• 6:50AM: Pre race meeting
• 7:00AM: Half Marathon race begins
• 11:00AM: Cutoff time for the Half Marathon. Participant must finish in 4 hours to receive finisher's medal and jacket.

1 Mile Fun Run

• 6:00AM: Packet pickup and race day registration begins
• 8:15AM: Packet pickup and race day registration closes
• 8:30AM: 1 Mile Fun Run begins
• 9:30AM: Firm cutoff for the 1 Mile Fun Run

Awards

• Half Marathon: Overall Male & Overall Female
• Top 3: Males and top 3 females in each of the following age groups: 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

1 Mile Fun Run

• Overall Male & Overall Female:
• All participants: Receive a finisher's medal. Age group awards are not offered for the 1 Mile Fun Run.

T-shirts

Short sleeved performance shirts are provided to registered participants. Shirts are guaranteed to those participants who registered prior to Friday, November 23, 2025. Shirts may be purchased without registration for $18 through November 23, 2025. Click Store to purchase an additional shirt.

Finisher's Swag: Medal & Jacket

We are happy to continue our tradition of awarding medals & jackets to FINISHERS! This means you must finish the race to receive your medal & jacket. Jackets will be available for pickup at the LAR tent near the finish area. Want to guarantee your correct sized jacket?

• 1: Register prior to Friday, November 23, 2025
• 2: Complete the Swamp Stomp Half Marathon under 4 hours

We have to make our orders early to guarantee they will be delivered on time for the race. You may check with us after the race to see if we have any extras, but we absolutely cannot guarantee we will have extra jackets in your size. There will be NO special orders for extra jackets or shirts! So hurry and sign up to guarantee yours before it’s too late!

Refund and Cancellation Policy

When you register for this event, you are making a non-refundable and non-transferable purchase. There are absolutely no refunds, no deferrals, and no bib exchanges. Lake Area Runners does not issue refunds if the event is cancelled due to circumstances out of our control.

If we foresee dangerous conditions that warrant cancellations, we will update participants via email through runsignup or post onto @LakeAreaRunners and @LakeAreaRunnersForum sites on Facebook.

Parking

Limited parking is available at the Graywood Golf club. No parking at the Graywood Racquet Club. Due to limited parking available in subdivisions and on the streets, we ask you to carpool!
