MCRRC Kids on the Run

Event Overview

Kids on the Run and the Kids Marathon are non-competitive running events for children and young people age 17 and younger. Participants can choose from these four distances based on their age and ability:

• 100m Toddler Trot: A fun introduction to running for the youngest participants.
• Half-Mile: A distance suited for those ready to take their first strides.
• One-Mile: Perfect for runners looking to challenge themselves.
• 2K Kids Marathon: A longer event for those aiming for more extensive mileage.

Event Location

All events take place on the paved trails of Bohrer Park in the City of Gaithersburg. Participants do not run on roads.

• Rabbit Runner: A designated runner leads the participants in each event.
• Course Sweeper: An individual follows behind to ensure everyone makes it back to the finish line.
• Cheering Opportunities: There are multiple spots along the course for spectators to support the youth runners!
