About this race
Event Overview
Come on out to Warren County, Virginia (an hour west of the DC metropolitan area) for the Shenandoah Valley's most scenic road race! The 28th running of the Greasy-Gooney 10K, hosted by the Shenandoah Valley Runners, will take place at 9:00 AM on Saturday 24 October 2026 in Browntown, about eight miles south of Front Royal.
Course Details
- Distance: 6.2 miles
- Terrain: Road course through the foothills of the Blue Ridge
- Scenery: Gorgeous views of the mountains and countryside
- Challenge: Somewhat challenging course, especially held at the peak of fall foliage season
Awards and Entry Fees
- Awards: Top three overall and top three in mostly five-year age groups
- Early Fees: $30 with premium, $24 without premium
- Race Day Fees: $40 with premium, $34 without premium
- Discount: $2 discount for members of the Shenandoah Valley Runners
Community Contribution
All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Browntown Community Center Association and the Humane Society of Warren County.
