RRRC Sweetheart 8K

Race Overview

The RRRC Sweetheart 8K is an annual Richmond Road Runners Club event that for 2026 offers two options for Valentine’s Day running or walking.

New for 2026

• Championship Status: We are excited to announce that this year’s Sweetheart 8K has been selected as the RRCA National Championship for “Other Distance.”

Event Details

• Race Types: The Sweetheart 8K will be an in-person race and a Virtual Sweetheart 8K.
• Date: The in-person race takes place on Sunday, February 15.
• Course: The scenic 8K (5 mile) route crosses through The Grove, Walton Park communities, and the historic Midlothian Coal Mine Park.
• Start/Finish Location: The race starts and finishes at the Urban Farmhouse in The Millworks in Midlothian.

Virtual Race

• Flexibility: Run when, where, and with whom you please from Friday, Feb. 14 to Monday, Feb. 17.
• Results Posting: Participants may post their results between Friday, Feb. 13 and Monday, Feb. 16.

Grand Prix Information

• Event Status: Both events are RRRC Grand Prix (GP) events for 2026.
• Race Points: RRRC GP participants receive a race point for posting a time for either event.
• Place Points: In-person participants receive place points based on overall and/or age-group finish times.

Additional Activities

• Raffle: This year will include a raffle for all registered participants.
• Costume Contest: Join the Team Costume Contest and bring your best Valentine’s Day spirit!

Important Deadlines

• Shirt and Buff Guarantee: There is a hard deadline of February 1st to guarantee Sweetheart 8K shirts and buffs for 2026.
• Registration: Please register before this date if you want race swag included.

Packet Pick-Up

• Location: Packet pick-up will take place at Lucky Road Running Store – Willow Lawn on Saturday, February 14th.
• Details: More details will be emailed to participants as race weekend approaches.
