The Neches River Festival Presents "Capes & Crowns" 5K Run

The race will be chip timed by Pelican Timing Services

All race proceeds fund the 8 NRF scholarships that are awarded to our community's youth!

Date and Time

  • Date: February 21, 2026
  • Kids 1 Mile Timed Run: Starts at 8:30 am
  • 5K: Starts at 9:00 am

Packet Pickup

  • Location: Exygon Health and Fitness Club, 6450 Phelan Blvd., Beaumont, TX 77706
  • Date: Thursday, February 19th - 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Date: Friday, February 20th - 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Race Day Pickup: Available: please allow extra time.

Race Description

The Neches River Festival will be hosting their 7th annual Capes and Crowns 5K Run/Walk.

Event Details

  • Course: Flat course through Downtown Beaumont, suitable for all skill levels.
  • Refreshments: Light refreshments before and after the race, with water stations along the route.
  • Medals: All participants will receive custom race medals.
  • Awards: Overall male and female winners will receive an additional prize: top three in each age group will receive medals.

Registration Fees

  • Early Online Registration (until February 1, 2026):
    • 1M: Kids ages 12 and under - $10 (No Race Shirt)
    • 5K: Ages 18 and under - $20.00
    • 5K: Ages 19 and over - $30.00
  • Late Online Registration (February 2nd - February 21st, 2026):
    • 5K: Ages 18 and under - $25.00
    • 5K: Ages 19 and over - $35.00

Age Groups for the 5K

1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, etc. 70+

Awards for the 5K

Top Overall Male & Female plus 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female in each age group.

What Registration Includes

  • Gift Bag: FREE gift bag
  • Shirt: Custom race shirt (youth & adult unisex sizing available - no shirt guarantee after February 1st) No Exchanges
  • Finisher’s Medal: Custom finisher’s medal

About the Organization

The Neches River Festival, Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, to promote a sense of community identity and heritage as well as the education of local students through community events, and through regular contributions to the Otho-Plummer/Neches River Festival Scholarship at Lamar University. The proceeds from this race are used to fund college scholarships that directly impact the youth of our community.

Purpose

Neches River Festival provides a cultural, educational, and civic opportunity for participating students, and is open to anyone, regardless of ethnicity or financial background. We are proud of our diverse group of student participants each year who represent each high school in Beaumont, Texas.
