16th Annual Camp Chestnut Ridge Trail Races

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The 15th annual Chestnut Ridge Trail Race is on Saturday, Nov 22, 2025.

📍 Location

• Venue: The race will be run entirely on the camp's single track trails and roads (dirt and gravel) at Chestnut Ridge Camp and Retreat Center in beautiful Efland, NC.
• Course: The course will feature rolling hills through old hardwood forests.
• Race Options: There are three race options – a 4ish mile race, an 8ish mile race, and a 3 mile virtual race.
• Accessibility: Walkers are welcome on the 4 mile trail, but please note this is a trail race. Please, no pets or baby strollers in the race.

🎒 Childcare & Safety

• Childcare: We will also be providing childcare while you run, if needed.
• Headphones: This is a “no headphones” event to ensure safety and enjoyment for all participants.
• Trail Conditions: There are rocks, roots, poo, and sometimes mud/water on the trails, so prepare accordingly.
• Closing Time: Both races will close at 12:00pm.

💖 Beneficiary

• Annual Fund: Proceeds from the race will benefit the “Pass It On” Annual Fund.
• Support: This fund supports the camping ministry, enhances facilities and equipment.
• Campership Program: Helps send children and youth to camp through the campership scholarship program.
• Impact: By running in the race, you can help send a kid to camp!

💵 Refund Policy

In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Committee or Camp Chestnut Ridge, such as but not limited to inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions: local, state or national emergency: public health emergency, no refunds will be made. Please keep this in mind.

📝 Registration Details

• Cost: The cost for the Trail Run is $30 for the 4 mile and $40 for the 8ish mile online. Registration after Nov 21, if still available, will be $40 for the 4 mile and $50 for the 8 mile, cash or check only.
• Shirts: Participants registering by Nov 3rd will be guaranteed a race shirt.
• Cap: Registration will be capped at 200 for the 4 mile and 150 for the 8 mile.
• Early Packet Pick-Up: Will take place at Bull City Running on Nov 22, from 4pm to 5:45pm. Bull City Running, South Point Crossing, Durham.

📅 Awards and Schedule

• Awards: Top Male & Female in both the 4 and 8ish mile race.
• Four Mile Race: Male and Female age groups: 1-8, 9-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-70, 70 and beyond.
• Eightish Mile Race: Female and Male age groups: 1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and beyond.
• Race Day Schedule: 8:45 am – 9:45 Check-in & packet pick-up. 10 am – 8ish mile race starts. 10:15 – 4 Mile race starts. 11:30 awards starting with 4 mile race, then 8ish mile race roughly 20 min later.
