Race Details
- 5 Mile International Bridge Run: This is a RUN: maintain a pace of 15 minutes per mile or faster.
- Walking Policy: This is NOT A WALK: those who cannot maintain pace may be asked to stop and shuttle back.
- Free Walking Event: A free annual walking event crosses the bridge in late June.
- Day 2 Events: A 5K Walk downtown that DOES NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE.
Logistics
- Bridge Closure: Note that the bridge will close prior to the race (7:30-9:30 AM).
- Travel Planning: Allow time for traffic backups when traveling from Canada.
- Previous Participation: The last event in 2025 had 720 participants.
- Start/Finish Area: Located at the LSSU Arts Center, showcasing views of Soo Locks and more.
Health and Safety
- ID Requirement: Carry an ID in case of a medical emergency: a passport is recommended.
- Travel Requirements: Citizens traveling from Canada must have a passport for entry into the US.
- Insurance Recommendation: Consider purchasing 1-day international health insurance.
- Emergency Services: Emergency personnel will transport participants to the nearest hospital in case of health emergencies.
