Steam Whistle 12k Run and 6k Walk

🏃‍♂️ Welcome to the Steam Whistle 12k Run and 6k Walk

Start the NEW YEAR off on the right foot and join the Pine Belt Pacers for a cool 12K (7.46 miles) Run or 6K (3.73 miles) Walk! What a great way to Run (or Walk) into the New Year!

✨ New Features This Year

• Race Registration: Race registration will come with a sweatshirt.
• Additional Merchandise: Option to separately buy a T-shirt, hooded sweatshirt, and sweatpants.
• Discounted Registration: New discounted race registration option available.
• Registration Deadline: Discounted rate available until December 18, 2025.

🏞️ Course Details

• Course Layout: Both courses are flat and fast, out and back on the Longleaf Trace.
• Starting Point: Both races start just East of Jackson Pavilion.
• Turnaround Points: The 12K Run turns around just west of Clyde Depot: the 6K Walk turns around just west of Lake Thoreau Road.
• Scenic Route: Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Longleaf Trace.

💧 Aid Stations

• Number of Aid Stations: There will be 2 aid stations on the course.
• Location: The first will be at the 6K Walk turnaround: the second at the 12K Run turnaround.
• Refreshments: Expect water and refreshments at each station.
• Support: Volunteers will be present to assist.

👕 Merchandise

• Sweatshirt Info: Register by December 18, 2025, to be guaranteed a Race Sweatshirt!
• Additional Sweatshirts: Can be purchased during race registration for $30.00.
• Late Registration: If you sign up after December 18, we cannot guarantee you will receive a race sweatshirt.
• Pants: Matching sweatpants available for $30.00 as an add-on.

🏆 Awards

• 12K Run Awards: 1st Male and Female, Overall, Master, and Grandmaster.
• Age Group Awards: Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in various age groups.
• 6K Walk Awards: Overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Male and Female.
• Recognition: Celebrate the accomplishments of participants!

📦 Packet Pickup

• Early Packet Pickup: Tuesday, December 31, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Breland Community Center.
• Location: Breland Community Center, 79 Jackson Road, Hattiesburg, MS 39402.
• Packet Contents: Bibs, race sweatshirts, swag bags, and purchased add-ons.
• Alternative Pickup: Someone may pick up your packet on your behalf if you cannot attend.

📅 Race Day Information

• Race Day Pickup: Begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Breland Community Center.
• Registration Closes: Online registration closes at 11:59 pm (CDT) on Tuesday, December 30.
• Last Minute Registration: Available at Packet Pickup for $50.00.
• Post Race Party: Enjoy traditional New Year's Day food and door prizes!
