🏃♂️ About the Race
The Shamrock Scurry, one of Tallahassee’s oldest races, is held at Killearn Methodist Church annually and it all started in 1981. This event, including a popular Pancake Breakfast afterward, has all proceeds going to local charities, youth rehabilitation, and feeding programs. It has become one of the largest and most popular 5K and 1 mile races in the Tallahassee area, with around 1,000 regional runners participating.
- Course: The course begins near the church on Roscommon Drive and features a scenic route of residential areas and the Killearn Country Club golf course.
- Experience: Most of the original course is followed, which many in the running community remember as “good but tough”.
- Challenge: The race still features the famed “Scurry Hill” around mile 2.
