Race Overview
Dash for the Beads is an annual 5K run along with a 1-mile walk that coincides with Mardi Gras so come out and Laissez les bons temps rouler! (To any Mardi Gras rookies that is Cajun for “Let the good times roll”).
Dash for the Beads is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that donates its proceeds to local area schools to help promote healthy eating and physical activity for our grade school children.
- Purpose: Funds local area schools and non-profits.
- Focus: Promotes physical fitness, healthy eating, and arts programming.
- Activities: Raise funds through the 5K and fun run.
- Support: Grants for local organizations dedicated to children's programs.
Funding and Impact
- Funds Raised: Over $27,000 in FREE entries given to approx. 675 DISD school kids (over the past 3 years).
- Donations: $325,000 awarded since 2014.
- Organizations Supported: 34 different organizations since 2014.
- Impact: Contributions to healthy eating and physical fitness for children.

Packet Pickup Details
- Early Packet Pickup: February 14th, 2026 at Oak Cliff Brewing Co, 1300 S. Polk Street #222 Dallas, Texas 75224.
- Race Day Packet Pickup: The Kessler Theater: 1230 W Davis St, Dallas, TX 75208 at 9:30am.
- Schedule: Events begin at 9:30am.
- Rewards: Celebrate achievements at the awards ceremony at 12:45pm.
Race Day Schedule
- 9:30am: Registration and packet pickup begins.
- 10:00am: DJ starts playing.
- 10:30am: Fun Run / 1-mile begins.
- 11:00am: Dash for the Beads 5K starts.
Awards
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for both male and female in the following categories:
- Overall: Top finishers in the race.
- Ages: 12 and under, 13-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
- Recognition: Celebrate the community's achievements.
- Encouragement: Promote participation at all levels.
