The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club (RHLW Lions Club) is proud to host the annual Diabetes Run for Life on Saturday, April 25th, 2026.
💰 Proceeds Purpose
The net proceeds help support The Lions Club's efforts on behalf of Type I Childhood Diabetes.
📍 Event Location
The event will start and end in beautiful Camp Thunderbird adjacent to the River Hills. It will include:
- Events: 5K and 10K Runs and a 1-Mile Family Fun Walk
- Activities: Eye examination and diabetes screening stations
- Guest: The author of the award-winning diabetes book “Sweetie”
🌳 Course Details
The 5K and 10K runs and 1-mile family fun walk will be held in the lakeside community of River Hills in Lake Wylie, S.C. Runners will love the challenging course that offers:
- Scenery: Rolling hills and tree-lined roads
- Views: Lake and golf course views
- Family-friendly: Stroller-friendly sidewalks for family walks
👦🏻 Support for Children
The funds raised by "Run For Life" allow the Lions Club to sponsor children with Type I Diabetes to go to Camp Sweet Escape. The camp is designed to help the children understand how to live and thrive with this frightening disease.
