Grand Caverns Signature 5K 2025

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Final Edition: The final edition of the certified 5K Grand Caverns Race Series is happening on April 25th, 2025!
• Sponsor: Special thanks to our presenting sponsors - CARDINAL DENTAL SPECIALISTS!
• All-Weather Event: We offer an all-weather event since 2012 that is festive & fun for participants, spectators & volunteers!
• Finishers Medals: Race medals will be given to all finishers, with prizes for the top three finishers per 5K age group (up to 90+ years)!

📅 Race Details

• Course: The 5K race features a "flat and fast" course in & around the historic Grand Caverns Park in Grottoes, VA.
• Chip Timing: Chip-timing will be used for the 5K.
• Twilight Start: The certified 5K race has a twilight start at 6:30 PM on April 25th.
• 1-Mile Fun Run: The 1-Mile fun run/walk stays within the park along the picturesque trail and begins approximately 5 minutes after the 5K starts.

👟 Proxy Participation

• Convenient Option: Cannot make it? Then be a PROXY PARTICIPANT! For just $10, you can register for the 5K and stay at home!
• Runner Selection: We will select another runner to go the distance for you.
• Post-Race Perks: After the race, we will send you your BIB and "finishing" time!
• Benefit: All proceeds will go towards the purchase of a new "natural" playground at the Grand Caverns Park.

📣 Event Schedule

• Race Day: Packet pickup begins at 5:15 PM on April 25th. Please park in the first lot on the left (pass the booth).
• Race Start Times: The 5K starts at 6:30 PM: the 1-Miler will start approximately at 6:35 PM.
• Awards Ceremony: Age group winners for the 5K, along with the top male & female finishers, will be announced after the races.
• Weather Policy: We will run this race in all safe weather conditions (rain, snow, etc.).

🚧 Important Notes

• Access Restrictions: Access to the park and surrounding roads will be cut off 15 minutes PRIOR to the start of the 5K. PLEASE arrive early.
• Road Reopening: Roads will reopen following the completion of the race.
