Theme: This year’s theme, CHASE THE CHANGE, embodies the spirit of this event.
Unity: It reminds us that change starts with each of us through our actions and commitment.
Goals: We are chasing a future where everyone can thrive.
Type: There will also be a virtual event for those who cannot participate in person.
📅 History and Legacy
Origin: The Women's Distance Festival was created to protest the lack of competitive races for women.
Historical Significance: The first Women’s Distance Festivals were run in opposition to the Men's Marathon at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
Growth: It has grown to be the largest Women and Girls 5K in the tristate area.
Established By: It was picked up by the Rockland Road Runners in 1988.
